Who We Are

We are a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Sri Lankan culture and community spirit in North Texas. Through cultural events, social gatherings, and community projects, we aim to build lasting friendships and share the beauty of our traditions with others.

What We Do

SLANT organizes a variety of cultural, educational, and charitable events throughout the year—from Sri Lankan New Year celebrations and music festivals to scholarship drives and community outreach programs. These events not only bring our community together but also introduce the richness of Sri Lankan culture to the broader North Texas community.

Our Mission & Impact

Beyond celebrations, SLANT is deeply committed to uplifting lives through meaningful initiatives. Our charitable work extends to supporting education, healthcare, and community development projects in both the U.S. and Sri Lanka. Whether it’s sponsoring underprivileged students, helping families in need, or supporting schools and hospitals, every effort reflects our belief in compassion, unity, and service.

Our Goals

To achieve our mission, SLANT strives to:

  • Support and empower underprivileged communities through social welfare activities.
  • Host Sri Lankan cultural events in the DFW area to share our traditions and values.
  • Provide educational support and scholarships to deserving students.
  • Partner with organizations and individuals who share our vision of service and unity.
  • Continue giving back to charitable causes in line with our 501(c)(3) non-profit commitment.
